George Guyton Cannady became the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Gryphon Airlines, LLC in August 2011 and provided operational, strategic and functional business management expertise and counsel to the Shareholders of Gryphon Airlines, LLC. Before joining Gryphon Airlines he was Chief Operating Officer of Dynamic Airways and lead the company through the task of initial FAA and DOT Certification under US FAR Part 121. Within 10 days of receiving Certification the airline started revenue service.

George Guyton was the owner and CEO of Atlanta Air Service, LLC and Prescott Support Company, a US FAR Part 121 All-Cargo Air Carrier. In the late 2005 acquisition of this commercial air cargo carrier allowed Mr. Cannady to benefit from the growing international freight market. He managed to create a very profitable business. Mr. Cannady gave advice to aviation contractors operating in Africa and the Middle East. His humanitarian support service had a big impact and helped many relief organizations and NGOs.

He graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and holds Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautics. Mr. Cannady is an experienced pilot with over 11,000 hours of flight time. He is type rated in 6 different transport category aircraft.

George Guyton Cannady spent 26 years in the United States Navy on active duty as a member of the Naval Reserve and is a “Distinguished Graduate” of the Navy’s elite Naval Aviation training program. He is the only Ensign to hold a Navy “Special Instrument Rating”.

His 35 years career in aviation covers all aspects of aviation and airline management, international business development, airline development and ownership. Thanks to his broad knowledge and understanding of international business matters together with his past.
